Installation

The program requires Windows XP or Vista, and MAY NOT work on 64bit versions of the operating system largely due to limitations on the underlying GIS engine, though we are not certain at this time.  The program is installed in three parts, the easy part is the application itself, the second part is somewhat unexcusable, but we don't have the time to figure out what the problem is with someone elses library, so you will need to download a prequisite installation file and install it.  The third part is the datafile.  We have decided to separate the three parts because of the size of the datafile.

Download and install this OCX to enable the use of the new GIS precipitation selector feature.  It is a required prerequisite to the program, but could not figure out how to get our installation technology to automatically include it with the installation.  Sorry.

The program is installed automatically from the website link below.  Before installing the application, we suggest that you download the map file (about 90MB) and unzip into a location of your choice.  After that is completed, then install the application.  When the program initially starts, it will ask for the location of the Washington.mwprj map.

Click here to download the map.

After downloading and un-zipping the files to your machine

Click here to proceed to the download page.  We know of no issues relate to the online installaton except for Cisco Security. If your network is running cisco security, there might be problems.  The fix is usually to have the Cisico Administrator place an exception for the application.
