Program Updates
The program is deployed and installed to your machine using Microsoft technology.
As long as you don't mess with the locations, the program will be automatically
updated whenever we decide to make an update available. We will post a new
version on our server and the next time the program is started, a dialog will appear
asking permission to update the program.
The procedure is reversible, meaning if at any time you wish to revert back to a
previous version, simply go through the normal uninstall process and instead of
removing the program select the previous version to roll back to.
As with our long standing policy of not charging for updates as long as the major
version number does not change, all updates for this program will also be free until
we change the major version number. If we decide to add a NEW feature to the
program (not an enhancement to an existing feature) we may decide to make that available
to existing licenses.
If that were the case, we may decide to charge for that added feature. It
would really be an added feature, not a product enhancement. It would also
be something significant. For example, if we decide to add a new discharge
structure to the program, it would probably not rise to our criteria as significant
so it would automatically be included in your next upgrade.
However, if we decided to offer a solution to the St Venant's full set of equations.
That would be significant, a new feature and we would probably ask for a fee to
access that capability. In general, the feature set of the product is locked
with the official product release.
